Rite Ventures invested in the Swedish fintech company Modular Finance in 2014 during its start-up phase when the company had net sales of 0.1 MSEK. Since then, the company has grown into a market leader in the Nordics, achieving net sales of 126 MSEK and an EBIT of 71 MSEK (56%) in 2023 - underscoring the strength and scalability of its business model.
At the time of investment, Modular Finance's core product was Holdings, a database providing detailed company ownership information tailored for professional investors. Over the years, the product portfolio has expanded to include other financial databases and comprehensive investor relations solutions, now consisting of 8 products and 6 add-ons. The company’s strong R&D capabilities and ability to commercialize innovative products have been key factors in development of a robust product offering.
Today, the company has a diversified customer base of more than 1,000 clients across Nordics. In 2024, the company entered the UK market, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion.
During our ownership period, Modular Finance has also strengthened its position through two strategic acquisitions, further enhancing its product offering and market reach.
In December 2023, Sprints Capital acquired a 40% stake in Modular Finance. Rite Ventures, along with the founders, retained the majority of shares.
